Cancer is a major health threat facing us today. In this video, Dr. Cherry gives an overview of foods from God’s plant kingdom that may provide cancer-fighting benefits.

Here are the foods that Dr. Cherry recommends:

1. Soy products On almost everyone’s list, soy products (such as soy beans, tofu and soy milk) contain phytoestrogen isoflavones. Studies have found that the main phytoestrogen in soy, genistein, may slow the progression of some cancers.
2. Chili pepper Casaicin, a chemical in chili peppers may neutralize certain cancer-causing substances.
3. Onions/Garlic These two foods contain allium, which increases immune system function.
4. Grapes The ellagic acid found in grapes (especially red) and berries may block the enzymes necessary for cancer cells to grow. Another compound in grapes, resveratrol, has cardiovascular benefits.
5. Oranges/Lemons Citrus fruits, which were first described in Genesis, Chapter 1, contain the compound lemonine, which may stimulate our cancer–fighting immune cells and break down cancer-causing substances.
6. Tomatoes Lycopene is the chemical that gives tomatoes (as well as red peppers and watermelon) their red color, and also prevents the cellular damage that can lead to cancer.
7. Green tea The polyphenol compounds in green tea, catechins, may stop cancer cells from dividing.
8. Broccoli/Cabbage These two vegetables are from the same family, and contain multiple cancer-fighting substances, including indoles, which can affect cancer cells' ability to divide.
