In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Cherry shares the latest research on what you can do to protect yourself from this all too common disease.
Breast cancer is the number one internal malignancy in women (skin cancer is number one cancer overall). But new research has emerged with some fascinating results regarding things you can do to protect yourself.
A study in Breast Cancer Research on 85,000 women found that if women do these 3 things on a regular basis they can reduce their risk of breast cancer by 15 – 25%:
1. Engage in at least 20 (up to 45) minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise 5 times per week.
2. Maintain a normal body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 25. (To find your BMI, grab a calculator and take your body weight in pounds, divide that by 703, then divide that by your height in inches, then divide by height in inches again.)
3. Eliminate or limit alcohol consumption. Alcohol is a consistent factor in breast cancer for women, so if there is a strong family history, you may want to eliminate alcohol completely
If you make these three things a part of your daily lifestyle, and make the commitment, you can reduce your risk by up to 25%, which is quite significant.
Screenings, or mammograms, are also very important, although there has been some controversy on whether regular screenings should begin at age 40 or 50. Ask your doctor what your breast density is, on a scale of 1-4. If you have a low density, you can probably go a little longer between screenings.
In addition, we have developed a women’s daily complete supplement package to assist in supporting women’s health, including breast health. It is a combination of these three products:
1. Basic Nutrient Support®, with 7 nutritional complexes;
2. Menopause Support, with soy and other ingredients to address breast health, even if you’re not in menopause
3. Bone Support, to support bone health, which is a common problem for women.
These are the things you can do in the natural to protect yourself and in Jesus’ name, we are going to believe that you are not going to face the prospect of breast cancer.
I also encourage you to protect your body as we go into flu season, and to consider Immunity Support as an additional defense.
