In this video, Dr. Cherry discusses the most common health threats to men, who are often less vigilant about seeing doctors, getting check-ups and managing their health.
Cardiovascular Disease (heart disease, heart attacks, heart failure) is the most common attack against men, and is largely preventable by doing the following:
• Getting regular check-ups
• Keeping LDL (bad cholesterol) under 100
• Keeping blood pressure under 130/80
• Keeping blood sugar under 100 and A1C (measure of long-term blood sugar levels) under 6
Prostate Disease (including enlargement) is another very overwhelmingly common problem for men.
• Get your PSA checked and make sure is under 4
