In light of recent news about a prescription drug that may reduce prostate cancer, Dr. Cherry talks about compounds found in nature that can protect the prostate.
A prescription drug called Proscar has been in the news recently because a study showed that it may reduce the rate of prostate cancer up to 25%. Proscar works by blocking an enzyme that converts testosterone into a hormone that causes cancer. Proscar, like many other prescription drugs, needs to be taken every day, long-term, and can be quite expensive.
Dr. Cherry reminds us that thousands of year ago, God created in nature the same active chemical (5-alpha-reductase), and it is found in Saw Palmetto
and Pygeum Bark.
Prostate cancer is one of the top three cancers afflicting men, with African-American men being particularly affected. There are a number of nutrients, in addition to Saw Palmetto and Pygeum Bark that help protect the prostate.
- Selenium tops of the list of most studies looking at prostate health
- Vitamin E is a close second
- Lycopene, found in tomatoes and now available in supplement form
- Green Tea, which contains catechins
- Soy Isoflavones , which have a number of health benefits
- Sulfuraphanes, found in broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables
God has already provided us with many positive things we can do or take to reduce our prostate risk – we just need to make them a daily habit.
My Prostate Support contains 16 nutrients I recommend for prostate health, including saw palmetto, pygeum bark extract, selenium vitamin E, lycopene and soy isoflavones, to make it easy for you to protect your prostate health.

The doctor found a nodule on my husband's prostate during a recent exam. He is scheduled for an ultrasound and a biopsy next week. My question: Will these nutrients help him, or is it too late?
No, it is definitely not too late. The nutrients talked about in the video, as well as those in the Prostate Support formula, support the prostate not only as a means of preventive health, but also when the prostate is enlarged, compromised, or even diseased.
Be sure your husband tell his doctor about any supplements being taken, especially if a treatment plan is needed.
We pray your husband's tests come back negative and you both find a pathway to healing through this.
The doctor recently found a nodule on my husband's prostate. He is being scheduled for an ultrasound and biopsy by the urologist. He is only 58. Is it too late for him to start taking this formula? Will it do any good now?
We have always eaten lots of tomatoes, onions, vegetables and fruits. However, we do eat red meat and a moderately high fat diet. What are your suggestions?
Dr Cherry, I just found out today from my Brother, age 58, was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3yrs ago. He went thru all the treatments and says has been in remission for about a year. Is it approiate for him to start on your prostate formula in addition to whatever meds he may be taking now? Was the Gentleman diagnosed pryor to or after taking your formula?
While it won't hurt to start taking prostate formula supplements at age 25, he probably doesn't need to just yet, unless he has risk factors. At this age, a complete basic supplement program that includes antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and other nutrients is a great plan for general health maintenance and preventive health. Men approaching age 40 should consider adding a daily prostate formula to their supplement program. At any age, a diet that includes lycopene (tomatoes, watermelon), green tea, vegetables and nuts is recommended for prostate health.
Dear Dr. Cherry,
What is the appropriate age to start taking nutrients for prostate health. My son is now 25 years.
Dr. Cherry,
I have been taking your prostate formula for about 5 years now. (Not really sure about the number of years, but 'a long time') A few months ago my doctor did a digital exam. He told me that, for a man my age, my prostate appeared the smallest and healthiest prostate that he had ever examined. I am 71 years of age. He said, "Whatever you are doing, keep it up."
My question to you: were you diagnosed before taking Dr. Cherry's formula or after? Thanks for sharing your testimony regarding the formula.
In the above testimonial there was no mention and no diagnosis of cancer or malignancy.
The Prostate Support formula is for use in preventative health and well being. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
No, he has not been diagnosed with cancer, but the whole thing has made me realize that he needs to take better care of himself. He takes multi-vitamins and some other things occasionally. The biopsy is to rule out cancer, since the nodule was found. The PSA was 2. Had they not found the nodule, it probably would have been dismissed.
